The first Electrocardiography (ECG) Course, organized by the Arrhythmia Working Group of the Azerbaijan Society of Cardiology, was successfully held on April 3–5, 2026, in the city of Ganja. The course was designed for cardiologists, internists, and emergency physicians working in the Ganjabasar region.
The training program was delivered by the Head of the Arrhythmia Working Group, arrhythmologist Gunay Rahimova, along with arrhythmologists Tural Mammadzade, Ceyhun Umudov, and cardiologist Naile Zarbaliyeva. Within the framework of the course, the theoretical and practical fundamentals of electrocardiography were comprehensively presented, and the subject was further reinforced through clinical case analyses and interactive discussions.
The course, which was marked by high interest and active participation, concluded with a formal examination. The highest score was achieved by cardiologist Ellada Jafarova from Kurdamir District Hospital, who was awarded a one-week advanced training course in Turkey. The second-place winner, cardiologist Vilayat Ismayilov from Ganja City Hospital, received an electrocardiography device, while the third and fourth places were shared by physicians Elnara Yusifova and Latafat Jafarova from Shamkir District Hospital, who were awarded Littmann stethoscopes.
It should be noted that the course was accredited with 14 CME credits by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, further confirming its professional significance and scientific-practical value.
The Arrhythmia Working Group of the Azerbaijan Society of Cardiology will continue this initiative to contribute to the continuous medical education of physicians in the regions. The next electrocardiography course is planned to be held at the end of May in Sheki.
